I cant get enough of these Infallible shadows!

Unbelievably pigmented in one swipe and super super soft.  I'm going to try this as an eyeliner.

Quickie Swatch! Loreal Infallible Eyeshadow "With a Twist" from the Miss Candy Collection *Limited Edition*

I came across this last week when I set out on an adventure with my daugher N.  We were on our way home and hopped into a CVS to get a few drinks, and I saw this.  The moment I spied the collection (and this purple) I knew it had to be mine!

It has a slight blue sheen that you can kind of see in the pics.  I find the formula on this a bit drier then the other Infallible shadows I have.  However, like the rest, this is perfectly pigmented in one swipe.  I have plans for this ..so I'll be able to test the wear soon.

This is Limited Edition, so if you see it pick it up! (you can always return it later..).

Top Favorites of the Year!

Siren Makeup 2012 Faves
with Rimmel London, Urban Decay, NARS Cosmetics

1)Favorite Foundation: Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation.
Shamefully I have not done a review on this (or the brush, which is equally amazing).  However, it does work beauttifully on my oily skin (yes, even in summer). It leaves my skin smooth and even, but still lets my cute little freckles shine through.

2)Favorite Eyeshadows: Loreal Infallible Eyeshadows & Urban Decay Naked Palette.
I had to give it up to two.  I love the Loreal Infallible shadows because they're so easy to use and are long lasting. They're excellent for a wash of color on the lids, and last all day.
I have both Naked Palettes by UD, and I have to admit, I'm more of a fan of the original. I'm not sure why-they're both excellent in terms of color and pigmentation.  However, I find myself reaching for the original more.

3)Favorite Blush: Milani Luminoso & NARS Deep Throat
I have not given these blushes much love on my blog (due mainly to the fact that I dont do FOTD's at all), but they have been getting love at home.  I recently took Deep Throat on my trip to LI, and Luminoso is a nice daily blush for me, as it gives a gorgeous glow to my cheeks. Both of these are worth checking out, as they' both have excellent pigmentation and staying power.

4) Favorite Lip Product: Rimmel Kate Moss Lipsticks
This was actually hard for me to choose. As much as I love the Revlon Lip Butters, and stainbalms, I found myself being drawn to these lipsticks more.  I have at least 4 of these in different shades, and I cant express how much I love these enough. They're only $5.49 a pop, and are long lasting, and pigmented. Win Win!

What were your favorites for the year? Agree or Disagree with my choices? Let me know in the comments!

What I wore for my Birthday

It was my Birthday yesterday! (I turned 28..) and for my birthday, I kept my look simple. It was raining/snowing here, and was wicked cold..so I didnt want to wear anything that would come off in the rain. I wore Amber Rush on my lids, and put UD's Naked in the crease. I then used my trusty Dollface blush to add a nice glow to my cheeks. That was it. No eyeliner, no mascara, nothing. It lasted all day and night, through the rain, wind, and snow.

By the way..have any of you tried beautysets? That site is addicting! I could spend all day messing with templates, and beauty clipping my favorite products. You all should check it out!

Swatch & First Impressions! Loreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Blinged and Brilliant from the Diamond Collection (LE) *Picture Heavy*

Hello all!  As I write this we are in a state of emergency due to Hurricane Sandy.  I live in Westchester County, (not too far from the water), so I may not be able to blog for a few days (depending on if we lose power, though cross your fingers that we don't) .

However, despite all of that ruckus, I wanted to get a few posts going!  This is one I've had sitting in my drafts for a few days.  Its a swatch of Blinged and Brilliant (Infallible Eyeshadow) from Loreal's Diamond Collection.  I was able to find this at my local Walgreens for $7.99.

Here's a pic of the display (taken with my own phone).

Now on to why you're all really here!  Swatches and commentary from me;-)

When I first took this home and I looked more closely at the color, I realized it looked very similar to another Infallible Shadow I have-Amber Rush (have I really reached the point where I'm actually duplicating eyeshadow colors in my stash?!) Maybe. So I decided to compare the two .  Here are some comparison pics.

In the topmost pic, with Amber Rush, and Blinged and Brilliant together, they look like they're obviously different colors.  However , in my apartment, under fluorescent lighting, they looked very very similar. Amber Rush is much darker, and slightly orangey (the color of amber), and Blinged.. is much more golden (almost a rose gold, which I love!).

I'm not sure if all the colors in the Diamond Collection have the same finish, but Blinged and Brilliant seems to be much more metallic looking compared to the other Infallible Shadows I have.  The wear time, and quality of this shadow is the same as the others.  Nice long wear (8ish hours with minor creasing..), and definitely smudge proof.  I love this color, and if I can find a way to blend two of these shadows together, I actually think Blinged and..Brill, and Amber Rush would pair nicely together.

Overall, its a nice shadow, and its a unique enough color where I think this is worth picking up if you come across it. Has anyone else picked up anything from this collection? Let me know in the comments section.

My Summer Faves!

This summer my beauty routine has been pretty minimal.  I have oily skin, and the summer wreaks havok on it.  My face is so sweaty and shiny in even 70* weather...its pretty bad.  Lately I've noticed that I'm reaching for the same few things over and over, and so was born this post.  Enjoy!

  • Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm : This is actually on deck for a review post.  I bought it in anticipation of a trip to Florida.  I wanted something that would deal with the heat and humidity (and my oily skin) while also helping me look put together (which it did!).  I love this stuff!
  • Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals Foundation in Matte in Fair with the Flawless Face brush:  I'm in love with this foundation..for me its perfect for summer (see my review here).  Even in the heat and humidity it holds up.  As for the brush, I wasnt a fan at first.  After washing it a few times with J & J Baby Shampoo, its a bit softer.  It gets the job done really well, so I can handle the scratchyness.

  • Urban Decay's Naked Palette:  Do I need to say more? Neutrals that last all day. Love it:)
  • Loreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Bronzed Taupe: Great for an overall lid color.  Lasts all day & helps me look put together! Couldn't ask for more!
  • Ecotools Shadow brush, Sephora eyeshadow brush (22 I belive), and Revlon Highlighting brush:  These are my go to shadow brushes! I actually use the Revlon one for my crease and for shading.

  • Project Runway Limited Edition Blush in Sultry Raven:  This is a cool toned light pink blush.  In the summer time my cheeks flush to a "lovely" shade of tomato red, so blush generally isn't necessary.  I used this almost every day.  It gives a nice glow to my cheeks, and while it does go on sheer, it can be built up nicely.

  • Benefit's Boing Concealer in 01: I bought this after my cousin (who never wore makeup until recently), bought this and began using this. This is my HG concealer (review coming up).  It covers up my under eye circles like a dream, even blazing in-your-face-tomato-red pimples it covers and conceals like its not there.  It also (most importantly) doesn't melt in the summer heat.
  • Covergirl Liquiline Blast in Brown Blaze:  This is actually my go-to eyeliner (which is why it looks a bit shorter then the rest) .  I love the look of brown eyeliner on me.  I'm a dark haired, brown eyed beauty (who also wears glasses), so black isn't always good for me.  This is awesome during the summer!  I use this all the way around my eyes, I use this just on my lid, and even on my waterline (though it works best on the waterline when set with powder).  I love the way it looks smudged out, and the built in smudger is great for that!
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Bourbon:  Urban Decay eyeliners are unmatched, and I'm glad that for the price ($19 at Sephora) it works as well as it does.  This literally lasts all day non-stop.  It lasted through 90* Florida heat, and tears.  This is the man when it comes to eyeliners for summer.
  • L'Oreal Carbon Black Extra Intense Liquid Pencil Eyeliner:  (whew..try to say that 3x fast ;) .  This is an amazingly pigmented eyeliner that lasts all day and night.  It was  actually quite difficult to take off, even with waterproof eye makeup remover (and this isnt touted as waterproof).  This is great for winged liner, cat eyes, and even on the waterline (without setting it).  It comes with a built in smudger and sharpener too as a bonus (I'm lazy in the summer heat...I admit it.  Who doesn't hate looking for eyeliner sharpeners?).
  • Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick: Perfect bright lipcolor for summer.  Put it on, and done.  No touch ups, no worries about fading.  Just a perfect bright pink! (full review here).

So those are my summer faves so far? What are yours? Do you use any of the above?

Time for a quickie! Swatches of L'Oreal Infallible 24 Hr Swatches! Endless Sea & Bronzed Taupe

Howdy Yall! (sorry ..been watching too much Spongebob lately),  Here's a quickie swatch post of newest Infallible Eyeshadows that I picked up.  As soon as pictures of Endless Sea started popping up on blogs..I knew I had to have it (I've been on a teal kick lately).  Luckily for me (and unbelievably) my local Walmart had it..along with Bronzed Taupe.  They were stuck in with the regular Infallible eyeshadows.

Bronzed Taupe was a part of the introductory (permanent) colors.  Endless Sea was new that came out for the summer (but is also permanent).   I already did a review on the first two shadows I picked up.  Click here for the review & click here for a swatch of Midnight Blue.  My feelings on these are still the same.  They may not be completely infallible, but they definitely last longer then any other eyeshadow I own.

Anyway on to the swatches!

Endless Sea and Bronzed Taupe are hands down GOREGOUS.  I'm soo happy! Perhaps an Eye of the Day ? hmmm ;)

Loreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Midnight Blue- Swatches & Pictures (picture heavy)

Howdy all my little sirens!  Sorry I've been MIA (miss me? I know you did :D) , Mothers day was this past Sunday, and being a mother, I thoroughly enjoyed my time off.  One of the gifts I got was a Loreal Infallible eyeshadow .  This one is Midnight Blue, which is a dark navy blue color.  I've already done a full review of these (click here to see), so I'll just be showing you some pictures and swatches today.

This eyeshadow is not for the faint of heart.  Its a deep blackened navy blue color, that reflects navy in the light.  This is perfect for a smokey eye, and I was even able to use it as a liner (on top lid). Its absolutely gorgeous!

Pictures! (prepare for awesomeness..-& as always click to enlarge)
