Rimmel  recently released a few new shades for their Moisture Renew Lipstick line.  I dont know if they're permanent, or limited edition (but I'm hoping permanent).  Nouveau Cheap has a picture of the display here (I found mine at Walgreens, that had the exact same display).

Oh my gosh! How can you not fall in love with this color?!  I hope this is permanent, because I can actually see myself using this lippie up (and needing more!!)

You need these! Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Fruit Punch, Flamingo Rose, and Nude Creme

Hello my pretty Sirens!  Today I'm excited to show you some lipsticks that I've absolutely fallen in love with! Milani Color Statement lipstick!  I believe these are a reformulation and revamping of their original Color Statement lipsticks.  I've never tried the old formulation..I can only speak on what I've bought.

What Milani says: "Make a statement without saying a word!  True Instant Color. One stroke, full coverage application. This next generation lipstick gives the ultimate in color, texture and finish.  The lightweight creamy formula contains Vitamins A, C, & E to moisturize and nourish lips.       Paraben-free. Available in Vinyl, Metallic, Cream, Shimmer, Pearl & Matte finish." (source)

(Fruit Punch)

(Flamingo Rose)

(Nude Creme)

(L-R: Fruit punch, Flamingo Rose, Nude Creme)

I'm going to get right to the point-yes these are awesome, and yes you need to pick at least one (or more) up.

Swatched, Fruit Punch, and Flamingo Rose look the same, however on the lips Fruit Punch is definitely pinker, with Flamingo..being more red.  Nude Creme is the most beautiful perfect nude.  Not too beige, and a hint of pink.  They're creamy and opaque in one swipe.  They do have a bit of a fruity/plasticy smell, but its nothing major (and it doesnt linger).  These last forever on me, and the two brighter shades leave a nice stain behind (love that..no reapplying for me!).  At $5.49 a pop, you need to pick up at least one!  There's 28 shades, so i'm sure everyone can find at least one they like.

Overall: You know how I feel. Amazing. Creamy, opaque, and perfect for summer.

WnW Lipstick Love!

Todays post is a quickie on one of WnW's new Megalast Lipsticks.  This one is called Just Peachy (903c).  Its a beautiful peachy/nude color.  The WnW Website says this lasts for about 4 hours, however on me it fared much much better.  It lasted all day through eating, and drinking, and left a nice subtle stain.

Swatch time!

I love this lipstick! It retails for around $1.99, so it wont break the bank.

I bought this myself.

Rimmel Haul! *Swatches! *Picture Heavy*

Howdy!  I've decided to share with you a small haul.  In March at Walgreens a lot of the Rimmel was 50% off.  Not everything (no eyeshadows or eyeliners..) but the lipsticks, bronzers, foundation..etc were.  While I'm not a huge fan of Rimmel eyeshadows, their lipsticks are top notch.  So I hauled..little by little.  I admit it may not look like much, but I'm kind of in love:)  Here's what I picked up:

I ended up with 5 lipsticks, and a bronzer.  Normally I wouldn't go near the bronzer.  However, ever since I picked up WnW's bronzer (the super light, practically a highlighter bronzer) Reserve your Cabana, I've been dipping my toes ever so slightly into the bronzer world.  I've got pics, and a small description of everything below!  I'm going to do a short description of everything, and then swatches and pictures at the end!

The Lipsticks:

202-Crush: Its a beautiful, neutral peach color. I'd been wanting this shade for a while, and I'm so happy to add it to my collection.  Its not opaque, so it shows a bit of your natural lip color when you  wear it.  However its not an "in your face" peach.  Its perfect for spring! The wear was also nice..about 4/5 hrs before it faded and left a nice stain.

14-Kate Moss Collection: Its a brownish sandy nude color.  It'll be a beautiful nude for someone..but not for me (it leans a little too much to the brown for me).  I didn't test out the wear on this since It made me look a bit washed out (and ended up taking it off).  However, these are touted to last 8 hrs, and be long wearing.  For me..they last about 5/6  hours (in the other colors I have).

036-Kiss: Kiss is a frosty mid toned pink.  I really really wanted to love kiss. However, it was too frosty for me to wear during the day..which is sad since the color really is gorgeous.

12-Kate Moss Collection:  OH MY GOSH.  I LOVE this color.  I actually wanted the red that Kate was wearing in the advert, but 12 looked so cool.  When I first put it on..i was like.."Eh..".  But I left it on most of the day, and kept checking back , and I realized this color is kind of amazing on me.  Its a cool toned Coral/Pink color.  The pinkish undertones is what makes it look well on me, and I love it.  It lasted 5/6 hours through eating and drinking before it faded to a stain. The lipstick itself is smooth and not too drying. This is a true winner.

006-Baby Pink: This without a doubt is my favorite of the bunch.  After wearing this I'd realized I'd seen it before on a blog I read Makeup and Maccaroons (if you've never read her blog..you really should..its great).  This is a light pink lipstick, but not so light that its unwearable.  Its the most perfect neutral pink, and I'm in love.  If you'd like to see a FOTD ..then check out Makeup and Macaroons (by clicking here).

The Bronzer:

The Bronzer is #21 Sunlight.  Its perfect for us pale peeps, and its not a dirty bronze. It has a nice subtle golden sheen to it that I love.  Its not super pigmented so you need to swipe a few times with a bronzer brush, but its perfect for new bronzer users or those who want a hint of a glow.  I'm once again very happy.

Review! New Maybelline Superstay 14hr Lipstick!

Well played Maybelline. Bringing a devout Covergirl fan to the dark side..and making me fall in love. Darn you! Nah. Just kidding. But seriously. Maybelline upped their game this year, and I must say. Me likey. They have 9 new products coming out this year (nine!) and that's just what I see on their website.  So far, I've reviewed one of them-the new Color Tattoo Eyeshadows, and I was incredibly impressed (and left me wanting to get more).  Now I'll be reviewing their Superstay 14hr Lipstick. Maybelline describes it as: "14HR Lipstick with an ultra-lightweight formula: • Stays fresh, light, and comfortable • Super rich color that lasts for 14 hours • Pigments are enveloped in a longwearing system"    I chose 012-Pout on Pink.

(ohhh ahhh..)

(yes..despite how they look different, this is the same lipstick in direct sunlight)

Packaging: Cute little travel friendly lipstick tube. The clear bottom is a very good representation of what you're going to get-so have no fear. They are not sealed in stores however, which is a downside for me. The rack I picked this up from was picked over, and you could tell many had been tested. However, the tube itself is secure, so no worries about keeping it in your makeup bag.

Color: Its a midtone rosy, pinkish color. The best way to describe it is a "My lips but better with a hint of shimmer" look. Or, just check out my swatch.

(pretty color, but whoh..pale arm..)

Performance: When first applying, it applies very smoothly , and feels creamy.  After a few moments, it dried, and my lips felt very dry.  Its definitely not "lip smackable".  However, the lipstick is a beautiful color, and had a nice shine to it. A light touch of lip balm , and my lips were fine! I loved the color.  I tested this baby out for 14hrs and I was very pleasantly surprised-It actually lasted!  I know what you're thinking "No way..".  Yes way.  Yes..it did fade, and wasn't as bright, but it definitely didn't qualify as a stain, since I could still feel the product on my lips.  The key is to waiting about 5min  before going off and eating or drinking.  It didn't transfer onto anything.  I had pizza, Chinese food , tea, soda everything. In fact, I could barely get it off my arm.

(Get it off!-soap and water attempt)

The ONE thing I HAVE to mention though is that it has a fragrance.  This is the first time I've used a lipstick that actually had a fragrance.  It smelled like a very sweet candy.  It also take a while to go away.  I couldn't figure out what it was at first, but then I was like.."Oh..dude..its the lipstick".  It lingered for probably at least 20 min or so.  I'm not too sure how much longer, since I'd become accustomed to it after a while. So if you're someone who is sensitive to smells, I would not recommend this

Overall: Overall this is a very very good lipstick.  It definitely lasts the 14hrs (though it does fade, it actually stays on a full 14hrs). The pigmentation is great, and has a nice subtle shine.  There is a fragrance however, and it does leave your lips feeling a bit dry (though lip balm helps). So if you're sensitive to cosmetics with a fragrance, do not pick this up.

--I give this: 4/5-The fragrance is what kept it from getting a perfect score
--All opinions here are my own.
--I bought this.

New Review! New Rimmel Lasting Finish-8Hr Collection

Hello all!  The New Year has passed, and we are officially in 2012.  While I have a few resolutions, I do have one that applies to this blog.  I resolve to post at least 3x a week.  Hope thats ok with you all:)

My first post of the new year will Rimmel's new Lasting Finish-8Hr Lipstick.  The display at my local Walgreens had 5 colors.  I picked up #08 a pinky/nude shade. Lets see how it turned out!

Packaging: Aesthetically I really love the design of the lipstick.  The black and red, with Kate Moss's name on the tube is very cool. It also has the Rimmel Crown on top

(Close up of Kate Moss's name, and the sexy packaging)

(Rimmel Crown)

The one downside to the tube itself is that the top doesnt feel secure.  Theres no click or anything when you put it on, so I was a little worried about it coming off.

Color: The color of the lipstick I chose is #08 which is a pink/nude color.  The display also had shades of red, and brown.  I truly love the color.  Its smooth and sleek, and really complimented my skin tone nicely.
The lipstick itself goes on nice and smooth and feels very creamy on the lips when first applied, which was great.

(beautiful color right?)

Performance: Oh Rimmel, I had such high hopes for this! 8hrs! That's all! I would have settled for six even, but unfortunately..it didn't last.  I really thought it would though.  Once I swatched the lipstick on my arm, I went to wash it off with soap and water, and ran into trouble, since it wouldn't come off. I thought to myself "Well now.. that's a good sign..".   So I put the lipstick on at exactly Noon, to test it out, and unfortunately it didn't do well after that.  While the color went on creamy and smooth at first, after about 2 hours my lips felt dry, and the color had faded to a stain.  It was a bit confusing, since after about 4 hours I kissed my toddler and it left a kiss mark on her forehead. An hour later, the color was completely gone and was left with only a stain on my lips.  It was a bit hard to see, I admit, but it was there, since my natural lip color is not pink (or nude..).  I'm sure if I had picked up the red color (it was so very hard to choose!)   The stain would have been more noticeable.  However, it did say the lipstick would last 8 hours..I'm not sure if it rubbing off, and staining your lips counts..

Overall: On the whole, I really love this as a regular lipstick.  Does it last 8hrs? In my experience- no.  Does that make it a bad lipstick? Not at all!  I really love how moisturizing, and pigmented it is. I also really want to pick up the red color I saw in the display (if its still there..),  Its a great lipstick..it just didn't last 8hrs as advertised.

I give it: 4/5- Would have been 5/5 if it had lasted longer.
