NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in French Fries

Hello all! Today I'm going to show you NYX's Jumbo eye Pencil in French Fries.  Now , now, I know it isnt an earth shattering product, and there are about 846546 billion reviews on how awesome NYX's pencils are, but this is my first one and its my blog, and I can do what I want ;)  I also thought it'd be nice to compare it to Milani's Shadow Eyez pencil (eeeyyeezzzzzz..sorry..that "z" really bugs me). So without further ado, here's my review.

First up: What NYX says: "A radiant eye liner that also doubles as an eye shadow. Made with a blend of mineral oil and powder, our creamy Jumbo Eye Pencils glide on effortlessly—no pulling, tugging or fading—and come in a rainbow of vivid hues. Some call her chubby. We say voluptuous. Available in 32 shades." (Source)

Color: NYX describes the color as "shimmery light silver"  umm what? I'd say that description is waaaayyyy off. Its a shimmery taupe. Done.

(its supposed to be a french fry-dont judge me haha)

(Milani Brown Deluxe-top-French Fries-bottom)

Compared to Milani's Brown Deluxe, its obviously lighter, and French Fries , while opaque in one swipe, is better after two or 3 swipes.

Performance: On its own, it's not bad! It doesnt make any promises as to how long wearing it is.  It only promises "no fading" which is true.  While testing these out, I expierienced no fading, no tugging, and is gloriously smooth to apply.  These are a bit more forgiving when it comes to smudging, so I actually was able to pull off a cute smudged out cat eye!  I also wore this on the lower lash line (not waterline) , and while it didnt irritate my eyes, or fade away-It did migrate a bit.  When worn as eyeliner (super kick ass smudgey cat eye), or when I wore it as a lid color,  it stayed put for 6 hours with only minor fading.

A note.  These are not self sharpening , so you will need to get a sharpener that can handle its jumbo size.

Overall: I'd say these are pretty good!  Not as long lasting as the Milani pencils, but much easier to find, and at only $4.45 are a bit cheaper.  They come in 32 shades and are great multitaskers!  French Fries was great as a lid color, and also as a base for some of my glittery shadows (lookin' at you UD...).  When used as a liner, it was amazing to smudge out.  It lasted 6 hours with very little fading or migrating.  Go ahead an pick 1 or 2 or 3 up!

  1. Love NYX jumbo pencils. I had never thought to wear them as a liner :/ Usually just wear them as a base for my shadows, will be trying the liner thing now :)

    1. Yay! :) It worked surprising well. I have a cheapo smudging brush I bought a while back, and starting smudging it when I applied it as liner (because I thought it looked bad..lol) , and it looked so good! It was purely by accident. I definitely want to pick up some other colors! Do you have any recommendations?
