Review! Covergirl Lip Perfection Lipstick! (In Delight)

*Hello again! I've decided to organize my reviews a bit..so now I'll be covering different catagories..hopefully it'll help my reviews flow better! Tell me what you think!*

Its been dreary and rainy here in NY this past week, so I wanted this review to be on something that picks me up when I wear it-bright lipstick!

As I stated in my last review, lately my beauty routine is eyeliner and bright lipstick. Its easy to maintain, and I can literally get ready in 2 min or less.  Once the cooler weather starts, I'll start wearing foundation again, and brighter blush, so I dont look dead, but untill then, this lipstick is what I'll be wearing.

First, I'd like to say, that untill Lip Perfection came out, I wasnt a fan of CG lipsticks.  They didnt have a wide range of colors, and they were very drying .  However the Lip Perfection line has 44 colors, and thats not including the Queen Collection line,  They usually retail for about $7.99 so everyone can find one (or two or three) they love.

The Packaging:  Standard rectangular brown tube, with the Covergirl logo on the side, and "color" and number and name stamped on the bottom.  I put the words color in "quotes" because the color on the bottom isnt exactly the color you get in the tube.

The Color:  The color is a beautiful magenta/pink color that has a slight gold shimmer in it.  No worries, when you put it on, you cant even see it.   Here I tried to capture the color (along with a swatch).

Consistancy: Covergirl advertises it as "Bright, gorgeous color that can transform your day and your lips. Enriched with a silk moisturizing complex, our formula helps sustain moisture levels and helps create soft, smooth, beautiful lips in just 7 days."  Its all true!  It goes on super smooth, and silky on my lips, and it even has a slight shine, and I love it!  The gold shimmer isnt even noticeable once applied.

How did it perform?  I love it! The color lasts for hours, with a normal amount of transfer.  By normal I mean, if you take a sip of coffee you wont have to redo your whole mouth, just a slight touch up here and there.  Its not too bad, and honestly its not a deal breaker for me.  The only other downside is that the bottom of the tube color, isnt what you get.  I went through 5 different colors untill I found Delight (and while I love them all in different ways, Delight is definitly my fav).  I almost forgot to mention-this lipsticks once worn off do stain your lips.  I personally love that slight flush of color, but others may not.

Overall:  Overall, its a great lipstick, and a great line.  With 44+ colors to choose from , everyone can find at least one they love.  Also, CVS has the beauty club that actually rewards you for cosmetic purchases, so I got money back for my lipsticks.  It does transfer, but the color and payoff are amazing..so its a worthwhile purchase.  Just a note- CG has the "Lip Perfection Challenge" where you wear their lipsticks for 7 days straight, and get smoother softer lips.  I never made it 7 days in a row, but my lips were soft and smooth and moisturized.

I give it 5/5

  1. I thought you said you were going with bright color lipsticks. This doesn't seem like a very bright color to me. Either way you have me sold. I love how you talk about your makeup with such passion. Looking forward to your next review.
