Holy Grail Eyeshadow/Eyeliner Pencil? Hell Yes. Review/Swatches: Sephora Collection Jumbo Liner in Taupe & Dark Taupe Shimmer.

These two eyeliners have been popping up on and off on the blog here for a while.  I'm finnally getting around to putting up a proper review.  So here it is.  Right off the bat..I'm going to let you know.  I love these, and I want more!

First: What Sephora says: "These jumbo pencils create a range of effects, from bold lines and blended effects to thin, defined lines. Resistant to water, heat, and humidity, their creamy, high-pigment formulas apply smoothly. From deep blacks to rich and shimmery shades, each is formulated with exclusive waxes and pigments to assure maximum color intensity that stays put for 12-hours." (source)

(Dark Taupe Shimmer)

(L-Taupe/R-Dark Taupe Shimmer)

These are amazing!  They can be used as eyeshadow (as I've been using the taupe) or as eyeliner.  They're touted as lasting all day, and without a primer I can honestly say that I've gotten at least 9 hours of wear with these.  They're a good base, good as eyeliner, and even last on the waterline.  They are jumbo, but they're not self sharpening.  So if you need a jumbo sharpener to use with these.  The colors are obviously very pigmented, and shimmery (but not over the top shimmery).  Their waterproof, but I found  that while it didnt last long on my waterline, it did survive the hot and sweaty summer we had.  You can also smudge these out if you work quickly.  Once it sets though, it sets.

At only $14 bucks a pop, they wont break the bank and will last you for a long time.  Do yourself a favor and grab one!  My collection of these has only just begun..

Hot for Navy eyeliner!

Navy  eyeliner is going to be hot for fall and winter.  I love navy eyeliner because its neutral enough to be worn every day , but is still able to give eyes a little pop.

Here are some of my favorite eyeliners!

*Rimmel Kohl Kajal Eyeliner in Deep Blue:  Beautiful Navy blue.  Stays all day!

*Loreal Infallible Shadow in Midnight Blue.  Took a couple of swipes, but this lasts all day long and and shimmery blue goodness.

(swatches of Rimmel (top), and Loreal Infallible (bottom))

Here are also some Navy eyeliners (that I unfortunately I dont own..but maybe will soon ;-)

(Urban Decay eyeshadow in Evidence)

(Sephora Jumbo Liner 12hr Waterproof in Marine) ($14)

Eyeshadows are great as eyeliners because they can be subtle and smudgy , or bold!  You can also use eyeshadow to set your normal liner.  Urban Decay is a great go-to brand for eyeliners and shadows that last all day, and the Sephora Jumbo liner..well I've been spouting my love for them for a while.

Sephora Jumbo Liner ($14)
Urban Decay Shadow ($18)
Urban Decay Glide on Pencil ($19)
Loreal Infallible shadow ($8.99)
Rimmel Kohl Kajal ($5.49)

Quickie Review and Thoughts on Fergie's WnW On The Edge Creme Eyeliner in Cobalt

This is going to just be a quick summation of my thoughts  and feelings on Fergie's Wet and Wild Creme Eyeliner in Cobalt.  Cobalt I belive is a limited edition color, though the line itself is not.  This is just my thoughts on this color ( I picked up a black, but I havent used it yet..)

(it looks blurry, but this is the best shot of the brush)

(unswiped and unused)

(sideways shot to show glitter)

I want to start off by saying that I am a gel eyeliner newbie.  I am not skilled at all in gel liners , but I do know when something isn't right.

The Good: The color is gorgeous.  As you can see by the swatch, its a beautiful cobalt blue, and on my dark brown eyes, it would have looked amazing.

The bad: Everything else.  When I used the brush to apply the liner, it went on completely sheer.  I had to make a few passes to get it to be opaque.  Also, there's glitter in it! AHHG! Glitter..bane of my freaking existence..

Overall: I was not impressed.  Went straight into the giveaway pile.  Sheer color, multiple swipes needed to get it opaque, hard and tugs on eyes, and then theres the glitter.  Save your money! I hope the black is better..
